Maternity coats: So many to choose from, so little time.

The last thing that you want to find yourself doing is spending hours under the fluorescent lights of a dressing room, trying on maternity coats. If you have a game plan when you begin to shop for maternity clothes, and if you know what color, cut, and style to you want, then the only thing left is size. And we know that the size is probably a large.

When devising the game plan strategy for purchasing maternity coats, think about what you need. What season is it? What do you already have in your closet? Decide on heavy or lightweight coats, and then only look at those. Consider how many sweaters you own, and choose your coat according to that; if you have a lot of bulky wool sweaters, do no buy the heaviest coat you can find or you are going to be sweaty and miserable. As always when shopping for maternity clothes, shop for a garment that will grow with you throughout the pregnancy. Find maternity coats that belt or tie and stay away from restrictive styles with zippers or buttons.

Finally, figure out what color you would like. Typically, your browns, blacks and grays are a sure bet because they will go with anything you have in your closet. Finding maternity coats that are the most versatile will give you a piece with the most value, so think then shop.
